The Senior Process Equipment Engineer supports secondary vaccines manufacturing in a 24/7 production facility as part of an Engineering and Maintenance Team. The team is responsible for maintaining equipment in a state of readiness through routine preventive maintenance and upgrades to extend its useful life.

The Senior Process Equipment Engineer will also lead continuous improvement projects to achieve Safety, Quality and Commercial objectives. As system experts, Engineers are relied upon to lead technical investigation impacting manufacturing processes

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Provide support to FFL Operations by collecting and analyzing equipment performance data, performing FMEA, developing and implementing preventive maintenance and calibration programs to ensure a reliable and optimized operational capability

  • Optimize maintenance procedures for all vial pathway related process equipment and associated control systems

  • Develop training programs for equipment operation and preventive maintenance

  • Act as the site subject matter expert for all questions and issues related to vial pathway process equipment (Washer, Tunnel, Filler, IPC, RABS, LUAT, ALUS, Capper, Seidenader and conveyance systems)

  • Project Management of key Continuous Improvement Projects as assigned by Value Stream Leader.

  • Provide technical support for existing vial pathway related process equipment and associated control systems

  • Analyze repairs and maintenance requirements in order to proactively address equipment weaknesses

  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to FFL Electrical Mechanic Technicians for compliance to LTS systems

  • Provide technical expertise during regulatory audits

  • Stay current on developments in the field of pharmaceutical process equipment and process control technology and GSK Standards

  • In cooperation with Validation, develop validation documentation and implement validation plans

  • Lead the design and installation of manufacturing process equipment and associated control systems which are harmonized with the GSK standards

  • Participate on cross-functional teams to facilitate discussion and research, enabling procedures to become more efficient, and enhance interdepartmental relationships

  • Manage vendors and consultants to ensure that contracts contain appropriate technical specifications and are delivered as required

  • Perform all job responsibilities in compliance with applicable EHS and GMP regulations, guidelines, policies, GSK standard operating & safety procedures, and industry practice and Industrial Excellence initiatives

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, biochemistry, chemical engineering or other engineering field

  • 5+ years experience in Secondary Aseptic Operations engineering

  • 1+ years experience in leading the design, programming, start-up, and troubleshooting of process control equipment including PLC/SCADA systems

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • 3+ years experience in lyophilization process equipment

  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word and the ability to learn and apply new computer programs. The ability to create, interpret and modify data in Excel is required

  • Prior user experience with MS Project and Primavera or similar project planning software

  • Provide leadership to generate options, resolve problems, prioritize solutions, select optimal solutions and implement decisions

  • Working knowledge of cGMPs, and the ability to grasp and apply site policies and procedures to project scope

  • Possess a technical understanding of industry and science practices related to the business
