Cytogenetics Technologist

Labcorp Genetics is growing and we are seeking Cytogenetics Technologists to join our team in Houston, TX! The position will focus primarily on chromosome analysis. This is a dry lab that analyzes routine blood chromosomes utilizing the Applied Spectral Imaging software. This position will not involve in any wet lab bench work, and will only focus on chromosome analysis. Open to hiring new grads or experienced Cytogenetics professionals! The schedule for this position is: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM –4:30PM or 7:00AM-3:30PM.

Please note: Due to CLIA regulatory compliance, this position is required to work onsite in Houston.

Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis of chromosomes, which includes imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens
• Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis
• Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature
• Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment
• Perform and evaluate troubleshooting, document all corrective actions as needed
• Comply with company policies and procedures

Requirements:

• B.A./B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Cytogenetics Technology or relatable life science
• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a Cytogenetics clinical laboratory required OR
• Open to hiring candidates that just graduated from a Cytogenetics Bachelors program
• ASCP certification in Cytogenetics required (or eligibility to obtain ASCP CG certification if a new grad)
