LabCorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Lead Specimen Accessioner in Overland Park, KS. The Support Services Accessioning Team Lead will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, data entry, and a myriad of Leadership duties based on need in a fast-paced environment. All duties performed according to established standard operating procedures.
Location:
- 7800 W 110th St Suite 200 Overland Park, KS 66210
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 10:30pm-7:00am;
- Mandatory OT based on Volume and Needs of Department.
- Weekend Rotations
- 3rd Shift Differential: 15% on top of base pay
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in the supervision of the day to day operations of the non-technical staff for the Accessioning department
- Help lead the team in their daily processes and procedures
- Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
- Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas
- Encourage process improvements and best practices
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
- Resolve any production errors as requested by management
- Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
- Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
- Responsible for enforcing and managing policies and procedures
- Perform administrative duties as needed
Job Requirements:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of applicable experience.
- Normally requires a Valid Driver's License along with a clean driving record.
- Previous relevant experience; preferably in a clinical laboratory
- Prior leadership experience is a plus
- Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures is preferred
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
