Position Description:
Provide Instrumentation and Controls maintenance support to facilities & utilities for our company's located in Rahway, New Jersey for the company’s pharmaceutical research campus and future headquarters. Support day-to-day preventative and corrective maintenance for assigned area(s) and may include technical input to mechanical utilities including; HVAC, steam, water and/or other utilities.Qualification/Requirements:
Experienced Instrumentation and Controls technician with working knowledge of operations and able to maintain, install, repair, and troubleshoot plant equipment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Calibrating manufacturing instruments (ie Temp., RH, Pressure, Speed and Flow etc.) in an cGMP environment.
Install, maintain, troubleshoot; temperature/ pressure and flow devices both field indicators and sending devices to PLCs.
Provide practical solutions to operations/ controls problems.
Significant experience and expertise in equipment metrological techniques.
Fabricate controls to schematics, including layout and physical mounting of components and wiring of all components.
Point to point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O Modules, VFDs, Interfaces & Instrumentation.
Ability to troubleshoot problems within instrumentation and control systems, identify root causes and propose and implement solutions.
A working understanding of pneumatic instrumentation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting and field repair.
A working understanding of the requirements of Hazardous Locations. Intrinsic Safety Barriers, purge panel for hazardous area i.e. Class 1 Div1
Layout, assemble, install, modify, repair, and test electrical systems and components.
Outstanding communication and team-orientation skills.
Maintain work area and equipment in a safe, efficient and clean operating condition.
This position requires interactions with internal customers and external service providers. As well as supports and contributes to maintenance planning process.
Assist in performing other duties, including work of other trades as required.
Uses all tools and equipment necessary to make installations and repairs diagnose and remedy mechanical problems quickly.
Ensures compliance requirements; e.g. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), safety, environmental, goals are achieved.
Supports a Target Zero Safety culture.
Completes training requirements as defined in training plan.
Provides complete written documentation of work including work orders, PM's, etc. and maintains cGMP records related to maintenance and repairs.
Utilize electronic technologies; electronic work order systems, e-training, and email.
Position Qualifications:
Education Minimum Requirement:
High School Graduate or equivalent, Vocation or technical school certification.
Required Experience and Skills:
4 years apprenticeship or 8 years of experience as an industrial Instrumentation and Controls technician with increasing levels of responsibility. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work as part of a team is a must. Applicants must be familiar with all phases of industrial maintenance.
