What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this role the Process Development Senior Associate will be assisting with cell line development in support of advancing Amgen pre-clinical large molecule pipeline. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, single cell cloning, and high-throughput clone screening using automation tools.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and characterize manufacturing cell lines, including DNA cloning, transfection, selection, single cell cloning and clone scale up, clone screening and cell banking
- Support cell engineering and characterization activities
- Maintain electronic laboratory notebooks
- Analyze and interpret data
- Generate written reports and communicate project updates
- Implement innovative methods to improve expression technologies
- Generate relevant data toward publications, patent applications, and regulatory submissions

Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s degree, or
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of process development experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands on experience in mammalian cell culture and excellent aseptic techniques
- Experience with single cell cloning and high-throughput screening
- Experience with automation and cell imaging systems
- Experience with gene editing and cell engineering
- Strong understanding of cell biology and molecular biology
- Ability to explore and develop novel technologies and approaches
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to craft and troubleshoot experiments with limited direction
- Ability to deliver on timelines and adapt to rapid changes in project priorities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team, self-motivation, strong communication skills and a positive demeanor
- Experience in assay development is preferred but not required
