Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, this position will be responsible for managing and developing the supplier base for the ODM (Original Design Manufacture) Commodities area. This includes security cameras, embedded computers, and networking systems.
As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will collaborate closely with a diverse group of global stakeholders and colleagues including executives, leaders, suppliers, planners, engineers, finance, buyers, project managers, and product managers. In this role, the candidate will engage in the following areas: development and implementation of global sourcing strategies; conduct comprehensive supplier selections; analyze industry-wide data relevant to commodity/supplier sourcing; manage supplier performance for Cost, Quality, Availability, Technology, and Environmental Social Governance; manage contracts and price negotiations; execute on cost analyses for the commodity and its subcomponents/materials.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Understanding the business, technology, and regulatory requirements for your assigned commodities.
Leading and collaborating with a globally distributed team in a dynamic environment.
Responsible for the Request for Quotations (RFQs), quote analysis, negotiations, and award covering parameters including pricing and availability.
Develops and utilizes supply chain, business, and financial modeling tools
Negotiates and completes contracts with complex suppliers
Drive internal alignment with key stakeholders on topics including supply strategies, product requirements and specifications, and Statement of Work.
Monitor industry trends, identify gaps and risks, and recommend actions to ensure continuity of supply.
Provides input on risk mitigation, business continuity, cost management, and operations strategies.
Lead in the creation & execution of action plans as required to successfully qualify new supplier and ensure successful manufacturing transitions
Lead efforts in supplier performance improvement based on scorecards and internal metrics.
Prepare and lead Quarterly Business Reviews involving other departments, as needed.
Work closely with the Engineering and Project Management teams on new product introduction to ensure alignment on expectations while highlighting roadblocks and developing solutions to overcome them.
Drives cost-reductions opportunities in conjunction with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Lead performance improvements using strong leadership skills and experience
Requirements:
Post Secondary Degree in Engineering and/or Business Required.
Up to 20% travel will be required, post-Covid.
Regular conference calls in evenings working with Asian based suppliers
Minimum of 5 years of in-depth supply chain experience with proven abilities in: Sourcing, Negotiation, Contracts, Project Management.
Experience in a combination of the commodities identified above
Preference given to those who have experience working in the Electronics industry at an OEM, EMS, or Electronics distributor.

Experience in global supplier and market analysis.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, ERP (SAP preferred), and PLM (Agile preferred) systems.
Demonstrated results in directly related roles.
Possess strong communications and interpersonal skills while able to work with multiple internal stakeholders to drive positive business results.
Basic Requirements
Post Secondary Degree in Engineering and/or Business
US or Canadian Citizenship
5 years of supply chain experience
