Position Overview
Provide intermediate level customer service/support functions, with an emphasis on telephone contact, answering customer questions about products, price and delivery, taking orders, and expediting orders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Roles & Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Answer customer inquiries for all customer types, including our larger, more established customer accounts (verbal, fax or other):
- Quote price and delivery
- Provide proper part numbers
- Provide order status and other pertinent information
Process customer orders, including system and project related requirements, entering orders on the computerized order entry system, and assigning the following:
- Customer number
- Price codes
- Commission terms
- P.O. number
- Part numbers/quantity
Research customer problems/complaints, troubleshooting and expediting orders via interdepartmental channels.
Knowledge of Product to provide basic technical assistance to our customers.
Serve as a liaison to regional sales representatives and manufacturer representatives, providing product and customer related information to service our customers.
Skills and Experience
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Computer Skills: Must have strong Microsoft Office, SAP R/3 and Outlook (a plus). Minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.
Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions, works well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
Project Management: Develops project plans; coordinates projects; communicates changes and progress; completes projects on time and budget manages project team activities.
International Order: Processing knowledge, payment terms and logistics
Minimum of 3-5 years previous customer service experience.
