The Opportunity

Goodman Manufacturing, a member of Daikin Industries is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Control Engineer 4within at our DTTP - Waller, TX location. The Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, configuration, integration and implementation of manufacturing process control systems. This includes identifying and leading process changes and projects to accommodate new models or products and to improve the operational efficiency and safety of manufacturing equipment. Skilled, hands-on problem solving combined with software programing and development of various types of controls components. The Controls Engineer also works directly with the production engineering and maintenance teams to provide enhanced troubleshooting and controls software support along with root cause identification and elimination of manufacturing equipment downtime issues. Qualifications

Nature & Scope:

  • Principal Engineer proficient working knowledgeable of most controls aspects and components
  • Provide guidance and leads large projects

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing controls systems and automation
  • Proficiency working with a large variety of controls and automation components
  • Advanced debugging, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Advanced PLC, HMI, VFD, servo programming skills
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical practices and safety codes
  • Debug and troubleshoot with only occasional assistance
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy and analytical skills
  • Ability to successfully manage large projects
  • Effective organizational and time management skills including prioritization skills
  • Excellent and effective communication skills verbal and written
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people and in a team setting
  • Ability to train and further develop team members skills and knowledge
  • Strong team player, results orientated, dedication to excellence and sense of urgency to achieve business objectives
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow safe work practices and good housekeeping

Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience preferably within a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Advanced PLC, HMI, VFD, Servo programming / project experience Principal Engineer
  • 8+ years of project management experience

Education:

  • BSEE, BSEET or other relevant BS Engineering degree with a controls focus
