Senior Associate - Global Hedge Management (Hybrid)

The Chief Investment Office manages $516 billion in assets and is responsible for asset/liability management, risk management, oversight and reporting on product investment margin and related capital markets hedging activities. CIO is primarily focused on the construction of well-diversified investment portfolios to protect Prudential’s invested capital and pricing margins. These portfolios consist of public / private investments and derivative instruments.
The Senior Associate will be part of Global Hedge Management (GHM) within the Chief Investment Office. Global Hedge Management is a center of excellence for Prudential’s hedging efforts, overseeing multiple hedge initiatives, the largest of which is the Variable Annuities Hedge Program. In addition, GHM executes Prudential’s derivative and foreign exchange transactions.
GHM consults with various internal business partners and customers to determine their hedging needs. The successful candidate will become part of the team that executes and manages these positions. Reporting to a Vice President within GHM, specific responsibilities will most likely include:
Gaining knowledge of capital markets and developing trading acumen in multiple asset classes
Assisting in the management of specific hedge programs
Developing and implementing technological advances for the Trade Desk
Collaborating with business partners to assist in product design and creation
Supporting non-strategic efforts such as trade ticketing and P&L reconciliation.
Qualifications:
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, advanced Excel/Tableau/Power BI acumen strongly desired
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in the fields of Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Actuarial or similar
Graduate degree, CFA, FSA or similar is desirable
Interest in capital markets, trading strategies, and financial instruments such as derivatives
Familiarity with capital and/or risk management strategies as well as retirement and insurance products
Programming skills, particularly in Python, VBA, and SQL, helpful
Background in the areas of Trading, Risk Management, Finance, Capital Management, Investment Management, Credit or Actuarial beneficial
Creative problem-solving skills along with outstanding verbal and written communication and collaboration skills
High degree of self-initiative
Tech-forward mindset
