Director - Creative Operations, Walmart Connect Lightbox Creative Team
Partnering with the top brands in the world, the Lightbox Creative team at Walmart Connect brings great ideas to life through design that delivers, results, innovation that inspires engagement, and content that connects consumers to brands. We care about the user experience and develop creative solutions across Walmart Connect's offerings that engage customers while also delivering against brands' objectives/KPIs. We are growing quickly and looking for a stellar leader to expand our scale.
The Director of Creative Operations will drive and oversee creative production, program management, and business operations for the Lightbox Creative team. You'll develop operational plans, forecast and allocate resources to meet business growth, develop a strategy to scale production, streamline processes, incorporate cross-functional planning, and lead a high-performing team of producers and program managers. You'll leverage your strategic and resourceful capabilities to research, assess, and either develop or adapt solutions to solve dynamic problems.
The ideal candidate is a design-thinker, builder, operational wizard, and leader of a team of collaborative like-minded professionals who are focused on upleveling creative solutions at scale. This role is right for you if you have an ability to simplify the complex, are a strategic thinker, possess strong business acumen, have a passion for streamlining complex processes and are a proven and well-respected leader.
In this role, you'll manage individual contributors and managers, overseeing the following areas:
- Creative Operations - Responsible for streamlining ways of working to maximize efficiencies while upleveling creativity and supporting new innovations.
- Program Management - Support and organize creative needs for new products, offerings, and innovation
- Business Management - Manage budgets, vendors/agencies, resource planning
- Creative Technology & Ecosystems - Responsible for strategy and implementation of new tools, vendors, systems to drive efficiencies
- Offshore Strategy - Build a strategy to expand scale through offshore and creative partnerships
Example of Duties
- Drive continuous improvement of Creative Operations by identifying and pursuing opportunities for strategic enhancements to creative systems and processes; leveraging new technologies, current industry trends, and best practices to integrate and drive systemic efficiencies; approving requisition of department workflow tools; and overseeing and ensuring compliance with organizational processes, standards, and guidelines.
- Provide overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
- Develop and implement vendor outsourcing strategies by building and maintaining relationships with current and potential vendors; vetting a comprehensive vendor portfolio; evaluating vendor performance; and holding vendors accountable for delivering on agreed contract terms.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of production or program management experience in digital media and marketing at tech platforms, ad agencies or media companies.
- 6 - 8 years of supervisory experience
- Retail Media experience is a bonus.
- Mastered knowledge of managing a studio environment, supporting creative and design professionals as well as external stakeholders, holding all accountable to deliverables and commitments, while optimizing process and ways of working as the organization scales.
- Experience leading creative operations with a strong strategic lens
- A proven leader, someone who understands how to set a vision for the team, is empathetic and understands how to foster team and individual development
- Excellent soft skills (influencing, persuasion, and communication) and proven relationship-building skills
- Thrives, excels, and remains calm in an extremely fast-paced and high-volume production environment
- Experience managing third party vendors, contracts, Offshore experience a plus.
- Experience balancing creative needs with business strategy and fiscal responsibility.
- Experience working with sales, product, marketing, operations and other cross-functional partners and ability to foster strong partnerships with them.
- Ability to anticipate and respond to creative team requirements in a pro-active, timely, cooperative and thorough manner
- Ability to articulate clear vision and goals, and identify and implement strategies and initiatives to achieve those goals
- Possess excellent analytical skills and strong focus on business results and operational efficiency
- Experience using metrics to measure performance and identify areas for operational improvement
- Able to set both long term strategic and short-term tactical goals for the organization
- Solid understanding of current digital trends and media landscape.
- Proficient knowledge of project management methodologies and software, resource management, and workflow optimization.
- Exceptional communication & presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience leading Creative Operations with a strong strategic lens

The annual salary range for this position is $140,000.00-$260,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
