This role will require that you live within driving distance to one of our hubs: Bentonville, AR, Hoboken, NJ, San Bruno, CA, Sunnyvale, CA or Los Angeles, CA. Hoboken, NJ is the preferred location. We're moving toward 3 days in the office per week, with flexibility.
About the Social Commerce Team

About the Role
As a Senior Director of Social Commerce, your focus will be to develop and lead business strategies, partnerships, and activations that inspire customers to shop through social experiences. You will partner with engineering, product, business, design, ecommerce and cross-functional teams. You will need to be a savvy self-starter who loves building from the ground up, leverages data to inform scale, and has excellent communication skills.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the trajectory of emerging customer behavior. You will bridge the art of what's possible across today's rapidly evolving social commerce landscape.
Challenges you'll tackle:
- As part of a growing team, you will lead and advance business strategy for social discovery & commerce experiences, inclusive of vision, iterative roadmaps, & activation
- Build and cultivate relationships with brands, organizations, and social platform partners to develop product discovery and shopping experiences
- Evolve and scale our social platform & creator offerings broadly for Walmart, using data-backed analysis to inform future direction
- Advocate efforts internally and externally with executive partners and leadership
Responsibilities
- Build, evolve, and scale enterprise content & social commerce business strategy that drives brand equity, engagement, customer growth, and sales. Inclusive of business development, planning, partner prioritization, activation, optimization & growth.
- Evaluate, test, and scale new social shopping features as partner offerings evolve
- Forge bespoke strategic partnerships with endemic partners to codevelop shoppable experiences that solution and innovate for customers' daily lives
- Accurately quantity and forecast social commerce performance to maximizing chance of success and minimize risk to the business. Includes P/L management of social commerce programs.
- Leverage data, insights and measurement to constantly optimize, as well as socialize and advocate insights and broader strategy internally to stakeholders and leadership.
- Create clear cross-functional deliverables and coordinate with key stakeholders across external and internal teams.
Qualifications
- Minimum 12+ years of work experience in a related area (e.g. Strategic Partnerships, Commerce, Social Platforms, Digital Marketing)
- Deep expertise in social commerce, inclusive of media partners, social players/networks, and how consumers are using them in the US and internationally
- Experience with social commerce platforms and/or activations (e.g. shoppable livestreaming, video commerce, in platform checkout, creator economy)
- Someone who can be both a visionary and big picture conceptual thinker as well as a doer.
- Strong written and oral presentation skills, and ability to balance storytelling with data-backed insights
- Gravitas to advocate, influence, and gain buy in both internally and externally
- Established industry relationships and experience working with executive level business and marketing leaders within client organizations, particularly across media, retail, and/or ecommerce.
- Effective communication skills - you're equally comfortable hopping on the phone with a new potential partner, meeting them in person, or following up (with a "make things happen" attitude)
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Builder mentality, ability to build programs from the ground up and self-start with little direction
