Job Summary

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you'll help build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to operations problems. Much of our support and software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, eliminating/mitigating production outages, and reducing work through automation. You'll join a team of innovative complex problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who bring thought-leadership, solution design and take measured risks. In this environment, you'll take the lead on relevant projects, supported by an organization that provides the team work, collaboration, and mentorship you need to learn and grow. As an SRE, you'll be focused on improving and enhancing reliability and sustainability of production applications and systems.

Job Description

The Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for keeping all user-facing services and production systems running efficiently. Across multiple practices within Deloitte, as an SRE engineer, you will work with multiple teams across our organization to introduce SRE principles, establish reliability goals, and develop tooling for operational observability.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing and integrating application, server, and network observability systems and analytics tools. You will also integrate with several BSS/OSS systems such as network systems, CRM, ticketing and notification platforms. This role serves both the internal IT organization and customer facing Operations organization.

  • Leads technical bridges and provides troubleshooting direction within 70+ enterprise applications. Including Einstein365, [Register to View] and ComcastNow.

  • You will have opportunity to lead the handling of system outages and repairing system operation issues within these applications.

  • Interact with our 3rd party vendors and coordinating integrations.

  • Acts as an advocate for Engineering Operations procedures, policies and processes. Ensures projects are fully coordinated into the operations environment including lifecycle problem management from front line CARE through Engineering.

  • Builds data and metric systems to supervise operational workflows; maintains records of results and feedback. Analyzes data and metrics, identifies problem areas and provides practical insight to management.

  • Provides guidance to Engineering and vendors on defects and required improvements. Attains all relevant industry standard technical certifications.

  • Performs complex and routine maintenance tests for designated areas of engineering. Identifies, isolates and escalates issues to appropriate personnel. Ensures that all maintenance is accurately validated to minimize subscriber impact to (ideally) zero.

  • Contributes to design considerations for new products or architectural changes to existing products. Assists with or leads efforts to build new application infrastructure, coordinating efforts across teams.

  • Analyses problems in design, configuration, data flow and data state within a highly sophisticated multi-product provisioning system.

  • Serves as team lead on multiple projects, often spanning different engineering disciplines within the organization.

  • Leads the integration of projects into operations including instrumentation, automation, standardization and methods/procedures.

  • Does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities. May direct workflow and act as a technical lead.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical knowledge of the Enterprise Platform in the IT space or extensive experience with the BSS or OSS platform.

  • Having experience with web technologies such as Node JS and Angular would be a PLUS.

Employees at all levels are encouraged to:

  • Understand our Operating Principles; make them the guidelines for how you do your job.

  • Own the customer experience - think and act in ways that put our customers first, give them seamless digital options at every touchpoint, and make them promoters of our products and services.

  • Know your stuff - be enthusiastic learners, users and advocates of our game-changing technology, products and services, especially our digital tools and experiences.

  • Win as a team - make big things happen by working together and being open to new ideas.

  • Be an active part of the Net Promoter System - a way of working that brings more employee and customer feedback into the company - by joining huddles, making call backs and helping us elevate opportunities to do better for our customers.

  • Drive results and growth.

  • Respect and promote inclusion & diversity.

  • Do what's right for each other, our customers, investors and our communities.
