Job Summary

Comcast and SKY are working on several joint product ventures in the Video and Broadband space. Starting with the launch of SKY Glass/SKY Q in 2021, we are leveraging the power of Comcast's technologies to deliver innovative products to SKY's customers in the EU and beyond. Comcast is seeking a Data Product Manager to lead all data-related initiatives for SKY's global Video & Broadband product portfolio. This important role is responsible for managing the pricing, packaging and documenting new products ideas and conducts user need analyses for ancillary products so that subscriber and financial objectives are achieved. Manages ongoing product management of new and existing products. Conducts the budgeting, planning, analysis and monitoring required to ensure unit and financial targets are met for assigned products. This job is an individual contributor role that does not have direct responsibility for supervision or performance management of staff.

Job Description

In this role, the successful candidate will closely collaborate with business owners, product and engineering teams in order to drive the design and development of data products and solutions to meet the analytics, reporting and machine learning needs of our internal and external customers. They will be responsible for defining and prioritizing requirements and maintaining the data product roadmap by working directly with our data platform, engineering and collaborator teams. The role also involves collaboration with program management, engineering and operations teams on the QA and release of products, as well reporting on progress and issues to senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Familiarity with data processing and data engineering tools like Spark and Databricks, as well as public cloud services (AWZ, Azure, GCP), by work experience or education preferred.

  • Data Analytics (SQL, Looker or Tableau knowledge in particular).

  • Prior experience in a technical product or solutions focused role (e.g., as a product owner/manager or solutions architect).

  • Ability to work independently to understand and tackle problems

  • Strong written and verbal story-teller.

  • Proven track record to work closely with technical partners to successfully build and promote offerings on a prioritized roadmap.

  • Can work with other Product Owners, regardless of agile or serial based models in scheduling work delivery and best product/platform design.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. B.S. or M.S. in a technical field (Engineering, Computer Science) is considered a plus.

  • Performs competitive analysis and conducts market research.

  • Teams with product development to deliver high quality products on time.

  • Participates in the strategy setting for enhancements to product content, pricing, packaging and features.

  • Assists in budgeting and variance analysis of product's unit and financial performance, with goal of seeing opportunities and risks. Concisely communicate trends, opportunities and risks, develop and defend POV for product features/benefits.

  • Conducts feasibility assessments, capability gap analysis (i.e., what is wanted vs. what is attainable).

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
