Customer Experience Technologies (CXT) is passionate about the technology, systems and tools that support the customer lifecycle (sales, activation, billing, support, etc.), as well as employee-facing teams such as human resources, finance, and workplace information technology. The Comcast Business team sits at the core of CXT to instrument the build of excellent customer solutions to support the entirety of the LBGUPS lifecycle for customers and fellow employees. Our team is responsible for building software, solutions, and process in partnership with our product and technology partners across Comcast. Business Services Delivery is looking for a Senior Java Engineer. The Senior Engineer is responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications and analyzes, tests and assists with the integration of new applications. One will oversee the documentation of all development activity, train non-technical personnel and assist with tracking performance metrics. In addition, the Senior Engineer integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities, acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment and may lead teams or projects and share expertise.Job Description

What you Will Learn:
To produce technical designs and documentation; and collaborate with other multiple, dynamic software developers and teams.
Continue to build your knowledge and skills with leading and emerging technologies
Required Technical Skills:
Develop software using Java, Spring, Spring boot
Proficiency in the following general areas: JavaScript, Unix Scripting
Build artifacts using Maven, Gradle; execute test plans and automated test cases within Agile.
Build and customize alerting/monitoring systems.
Design and implement Web services (REST and SOAP based).
Produce technical designs and documentation; and participate in weekly knowledge sharing sessions, semi-annual Lab Weeks, and Scrum ceremonies.
Strong experience in Apache Kafka framework.
Experience in CI/CD deployments and build jobs using Concourse
Experience with Oracle SQL and NoSQL database like MongoDB.
Experience in Logstash, Kibana.

Core Responsibilities
Collaborates with project collaborators to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
Crafts new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications. Develops software update process for existing applications. Assists in the roll-out of software releases.
Trains junior Software Development Engineers on internally developed software applications.
Leads all aspects of the researching, writing and editing of documentation and technical requirements, including evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports.
Keeps current with technological developments within the industry. Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and mentorship with regards to practices, procedures and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior level Software Development Engineers.
Assists in tracking and evaluating performance metrics. Ensures team delivers software on time, to specification and within budget.
Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
Displays expertise in knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts and skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
Displays expertise in process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
