Job Summary

Responsible for providing oversight for the implementation of the organization’s environmental programs at multiple locations. Responsible for reviewing, evaluating, analyzing and controlling workplace and community environments. . May conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing environmental impacts. Administer major programs ex. local environmental goals as well as permitting and inspections. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as resource for colleagues with less experience. Areas of responsibility will include hazardous waste management, hazardous materials management, SPCC plan management, air quality compliance, universal waste management, storm water management, sustainability, recycling & composting.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Program and Policy Development

  • Recommends changes to processes, incorporating good environmental practices and training, in areas such as PPE, equipment use, used equipment and waste management, spill prevention.

  • Program Implementation

  • Leads the implementation of environmental compliance programs in areas such as emergency preparedness, spill prevention, universal waste, PPE, hazardous material handling, emergency response and life safety.

  • Reviews and offers suggestions for the selection of environmental equipment to maintain and improve the company's environmental programs.

  • Oversees the development, update and roll-out of environmental procedures.

  • Implement and track programs to reduce environmental impacts, such as energy efficiency, waste reduction/recycling, idle-time reduction.

  • Prepares content for use in environmental training programs.

  • Inputs and reviews data in EHS system. May also function as EHS system SME.

  • Collaboration and Internal Reporting

  • Provides guidance for and leads EHS committees to improve the effectiveness of EHS processes.

  • Using data from company databases and metrics, prepares presentations for, and conducts EHS meetings for frontline employees and peer work groups.

  • Recommends, reviews and tracks corrective action to closure where EHS opportunities exist.

  • Proactively identifies risks and opportunities for safety or environmental improvement.

  • Works with employees to ensure standard tools and equipment minimize risks to environment.

  • Works independently under the direction of supervisor.

  • Subject Matter Expertise

  • Researches federal, state, and local standards and regulations, as needed. Acts in an advisory capacity on regulatory compliance matters.

  • Facilitates compliance with federal, state and local EHS regulations, and interacts with regulatory agencies, as appropriate.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.

Salary:

Pay Range: $93,399.14 - $140,098.71

Additional Range: This job can be performed in California, with a Pay Range of $82,191.24 USD - $128,890.81 USD

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
