About the External Affairs Team:

• Promote and protect the Comcast brand through community impact initiatives, public relations campaigns, media relations, content creation, and social media.
• Design, develop and implement strategies to influence policy that fosters a better business environment for the company
• Drive key strategic initiatives for Comcast’s digital equity initiatives
  

Are you a match? We are looking for an intern who can:

• Good communication skills.
• Enjoys writing, speaking, and presenting in front of an audience.
• Has the willingness and desire to learn how to write in a corporate business setting.
• Is social media savvy on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc., but understands the distinction of producing social media content for a corporation or brand as opposed to personal purposes.
• Willingness to learn about Comcast’s programs, services and products.
• Proficient in Power Point, Excel, Word, SharePoint.
• Studying degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or Public Policy.

What will you be working on as a Public Relations Intern:

• This role will provide tactical support to our overall External Affairs initiatives, across External Communications, Community Impact and Government Affairs
• Work with region’s External Affairs team members in the implementation of key strategic initiatives for Comcast’s digital equity initiatives (Internet Essentials, Lift Zones, RISE, etc.)
• Work directly with the external communications team to organize and execute public relations campaigns
• Support at all of the External Affairs team’s in-person or virtual Signature Events throughout our California footprint
• Under the region’s Public Relations Specialist direction, works on media landscape and coverage research on certain topics such as the digital divide, government-owned networks, etc.
• Traditional and social media research, monitoring and reporting

Basic Qualifications/Requirements

• Graduation date between December 2023 and June 2024
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university
• Authorized to work in the United States of America
• Strong interest in the technology, telecommunications, cable, and media industries
• Ability to work independently and in group settings
• Ability to report to assigned office post-graduation if offered and accepted a fulltime position
• Must have internet access to perform work virtually
• Must reside or attend school near the host office

Base Pay: $29.00
