1203-Engineer 4, Software Development & Engineering
DUTIES: Provide technical leadership in designing and developing new software and web applications throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle using Python, Java, SQL, Shell, and Agile development methodology; develop Restful APIs using Django; build and manage private and public cloud services using Open Stack, AWS, and the following cloud technologies: Kafka, Spark, HTTP Collector, and RabbitMQ; work with the RDK platform, HSD (High Speed Data) and Voice Service Communications and Protocols; work with Cassandra, Mongo, and Redis databases; support applications under development and customize current applications; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience developing software throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Python, Java, SQL, Shell, and Agile development methodology; developing Restful APIs using Django; and building and managing private and public cloud services using Open Stack and AWS; of which two years (2) must include working with the RDK platform, HSD (High Speed Data) and Voice Service Communications and Protocols; using the following cloud technologies: Kafka, Spark, HTTP Collector, and RabbitMQ; and working with Cassandra, Mongo, and Redis databases.
