Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and driven individual for our Assistant District Manager position as part of our Management Training Program. This is a unique opportunity for a talented individual to gain hands-on experience and develop the skills necessary to become a successful District Manager within Waste Connections.
Responsibilities:
As an Assistant District Manager, you will be immersed in a comprehensive training program, working closely with our District Manager of this large site, to learn the following key responsibilities:
1. People Management and Servant Leadership:
- Embrace and demonstrate the principles of servant leadership, putting the needs of your team and the community first.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and developing a high-performing team with a focus on empowering and supporting employees.
- Address employee performance issues with empathy and encourage professional growth.
2. Safety and Safety Culture:
- Promote and ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures, emphasizing a strong safety culture.
- Lead safety meetings and participate in safety training programs.
- Implement safety initiatives to reduce incidents and accidents.
3. Political and Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local authorities, community leaders, and stakeholders.
- Represent Waste Connections at community events and initiatives, embodying the spirit of a servant leader.
4. Financial Management:
- Assist in managing the district's budget, controlling expenses, and maximizing revenue.
- Analyze financial reports and identify areas for improvement while ensuring responsible financial stewardship.
5. Sales and Business Development:
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify growth opportunities.
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies to expand the customer base and increase revenue, always considering the impact on the community.
6. Employee Retention and Servant Leadership Culture:
- Implement strategies to improve employee retention and engagement, recognizing that a servant leadership culture is the foundation of our success.
- Continuously strive to enhance the servant leadership culture within the district.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and strong communication skills.
- Willingness to relocate.
- Adept at problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Salary:
$110,000-$115,000 Annually
Bonus: 0-20%
