About the job
Perform actual sample prep and structural analysis of fabrication processes and defects on lab submissions.
Able to operate scanning electron microscope (SEM), x-ray microanalysis, and focused ion beam (FIB) systems. Prepare SEM and transmission electron microscope (TEM) samples using sectioning, deprocessing, and/or FIB.
Identification of process anomalies and defects using the above equipment. Individual must be thorough to ensure equipment is performing to spec and not causing a negative impact to work, but also completes assignments in a timely manner. Must follow all procedures and specs. Individual will implement basic corrective actions to address issues identified. Produce analysis results as requested by internal customers, along with direct communication with customer to clarify analysis request.
Additional experience in operation of ToF-SIMS, Auger, XRD and FTIR instruments and reduction of ToF-SIMS, Auger and XRD data a plus.
Measurable Tasks: Achieving lab cycle time, job age objectives without compromising product quality.
Minimum requirements
- Associates degree in Electronics or related field or equivalent military experience
-3 years of semiconductor experience in a physical failure analysis lab
Preferred qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
- Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
- Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
- Working well in a team environment is imperative in this role.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
- Good listener and excellent verbal and written communication skills
