Product Manager, Hardware
Meta Product Managers work with cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, data scientists and researchers to build products. We are looking for extremely entrepreneurial Product Managers who value moving quickly. This job description represents different full-time roles across Reality Labs.
Required Skills
Product Manager, Hardware Responsibilities:
- Own development of new and in-market hardware products.
- Strategically evolve and grow existing products and services to constantly deliver a better user experience.
- Identify immediate and/or upcoming user needs, then work with the team to develop a product plan that addresses them.
- Manage hardware tradeoffs, spanning compute, battery, ergonomics, audio, displays, and optics.
- Partner with software and experience teams to deliver on key use cases.
- Responsible for overall program business outcomes including pricing, financials, business models, and go-to-market strategies in partnership with GTM teams.
- Display strong cross-functional leadership, executive communications, organizational and execution skills.
- Is the primary driver for identifying significant opportunities, and driving product vision, strategies and roadmaps in the context of broader organizational strategies and goals.
- Incorporate data, research and market analysis to inform product strategies and roadmaps.
- Leads and motivates a team of engineers and other cross-functional representatives, and maintains team health.
- Understand Meta’s strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are aligned with our mission and recognized best in the industry.
- Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm.
- Manage collaboration and communication with other teams, both internal and external, to ensure teams have what they need and can work efficiently.
- Collaborate with other teams inside Meta to drive innovative changes.
Minumum Qualification
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years product management experience or related industry experience with 2+ years of experience on device/hardware programs
- Experience managing delivery of 1 or more hardware/software products
- Experience managing and overseeing multiple on-going initiatives simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree with a preference for advanced degrees (or foreign degree equivalent) in EE, ME, Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field
- Experience working in a technical environment with broad cross functional teams to drive product vision, define product requirements, coordinate resources from other groups (design, legal, etc.), and guide the team through key milestones
- Technical experience with hardware subsystems and components, analytical tools, product development methodologies, and design
- Experience analyzing complex, large-scale data sets and making decisions based on data
- Experience gathering requirements across diverse areas and users, and converting and developing them into a product solution
- Understanding and distilling down complex and ambiguous problems into easily communicated and actionable recommendations
- Very proactive with a proven bias toward action
- Effective communication skills
- Proven (4+ years) track record of communicating and working with exec-level leadership
- Displays proven empathetic leadership, organizational and execution skills
- Proven history of being an advocate for the customer/user needs especially when faced with internal biases toward org and engineering goals

- Experience identifying significant opportunities, and driving product vision, strategies and roadmaps in the context of broader organizational strategies and goals
- Experience going through a full product life-cycle, integrating customer feedback into product requirements, driving prioritization and pre/post-launch execution
- Enthusiastic and resilient in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent knowledge
- Experience working in consumer devices
- Experience delivering products with new technology introduction
