Description
Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering (GGRE) organization provides IT support to the Houston based Geoscience and Reservoir Engineering staff in ConocoPhillips. The Reservoir Engineering IT Lead is the liaison between the Geoscientist and Reservoir Engineering staff and IT Support.

Your responsibilities may include\:
The Reservoir Engineering IT Lead is accountable for building and maintaining relationships with Geoscience (GG) & Reservoir Engineering (RE) staff, management of projects with varying scale; understanding both GG, RE and IT requirements; facilitating communication across disciplines, and ensuring that IT solutions are executed in line with the Development & Exploration capability priorities.
The Reservoir Engineering IT Lead is a cross functional role who will play as a IT liaison for Reservoir Engineering staff. This candidate will contribute to strategic planning in the RE portfolio roadmap, execute prioritized initiatives and manage operational IT needs and issue resolution with the RE staff. Additionally, they will partner with BU imbedded IT Analysts to consult or lead RE focused initiatives as required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following\:
- Providing reservoir engineering support for assessment and adaptation of technical applications
- Solving complex data, solution design challenges associated with a diverse range of reservoir engineering data and application systems, in service of cross functions (GG, Planning, Wells) integration and collaboration
- Providing support to business units to identify and manage potential data and application systems optimization
- Providing support to business units to minimize the impact of applications and data challenges on existing reservoir engineering workflows
- Direct business unit point of contact and project engineer for reservoir engineering data management and application integrations and modifications
- Leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on newly designed data, applications & analytics solutions
- Identifying the optimized process to plan, design and execute management of change for reservoir engineering data systems and applications
- Evaluation of existing and future reservoir engineering applications, analytics and data management systems for technical reservoir modeling and reserves forecasting
- Manage RE Software Portfolio, Budget. Provide input in overall GGRE Roadmap. Lead Project & Resource planning & execution in support for projects tied to GGRE roadmap
Basic/Required\:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Geosciences, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical discipline, or foreign equivalent
- 3 years of experience in IT and/or Project Management
- 1 years experience in Reservoir Engineering
Preferred\:
- 3 years of experience collaborating with Reservoir Engineer, Production and Completions staff having familiarity with their workflows and problems
- 3 years of experience with Reservoir Engineering, Production & Forecasting Applications\: OFM, Harmony, Prosper, ValNav, Intersect, Eclipse, 3DSL, CMG, RESULTS, WellView
- 3 years of experience working with Reservoir Engineering data, workflows, and problems
- 3 years of experience in project management using Jira or Microsoft Project for project planning
- Intermediate level of knowledge of Geoscientist workflows, terminology, and software
- Intermediate level of knowledge of Cloud Environment, SaaS Solution Model
- Intermediate level of proficiency with MS O365 applications\: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Teams
- Intermediate level of proficiency in Software Portfolio Management & Vendor Engagement
- Demonstrated ability to lead and oversee multiple projects
- Able to work independently; Results driven
