The Transportation Finance (TF) Line of Business has a significant investment in digital automation with its "Touchless" Originations System" and is seeking a bold plan to move this platform from In-Cloud to Cloud Native. With ambition 2025, we will require a major technology investment to improve agility, take costs out and grow the business portfolio. This position will be a key leader to advance this technology plan. In this role, you will be responsible for working with the business team to drive requirements, design with the cloud in mind, build with agility and lead TF projects to a successful conclusion.

The Technical Architect will:

  • Lead design and development of critical technology functions for Transportation Finance Technology group.

  • Work in a structured environment, practicing both the Agile and Waterfall development models.

  • Provide eco-system awareness and thought-leadership from a design and delivery perspective.

  • Work with Global teams dispersed across the globe.

  • Willing to coach and mentor junior engineers.

  • Plan, prioritize, and deliver solutions that represent the best value technology spend while observing technology governance within prescribed limits. Manages and maintains the ongoing solutions delivered to the designated business/group. Acts as a platform or application owner.

  • Manages the end to end development process to ensure that the right solutions are delivered and addresses any operational concerns once in production. Delivers on time and one budget and adheres to required standards.

  • Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.

  • Works with internal stakeholders to provide architectural recommendations and guidance and departmental presentations.

  • Creates and manages key architecture assets for the designated portfolio and business scope.

  • Ensures sound and robust architecture and provides sufficient guidance for the successful implementation of solutions to mitigate negative enterprise technology and budget impacts.

  • Identifies risks or issues with technology solution and design that may impact realization of project benefits, and guides and supports stakeholders in making good decisions that proactively resolve or mitigate potential project risks/delays.

  • Identifies and researches relevant technologies, performs proofs of concept / prototypes, and recommends the applications of such technologies for future product architecture.

  • Identifies opportunities to strengthen the capability of the technology organization (e.g. sharing architectural expertise to promote technical development, mentoring employees, building communities of practice and networks).

  • Stays abreast of industry technical and business trends through participation in professional associations, practice communities, and individual learning.

  • Provides architectural expertise and domain knowledge to advise and guide senior leaders.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 7-10 years of work experience in IT or business environment and/or BS/BA or MBA/MS in computer science, engineering, information systems, math or business.

  • Hands on development experience with Angular, NodeJS, J2EE, Oracle, ML Frameworks, Python, and PostgreSQL.

  • AWS Certified Architect or be willing to pass exam within 6 months of joining. As a strategic partner to AWS, we have many resources that will enable our team members to achieve their goals!

  • Industry preference - Banking, Financial Services, or FinTech - with focus on Digital Channels, Credit Risk, Standalone technology product companies.

  • Possesses a deep understanding and problem solving ability of various complexities.

  • Ability to manage ambiguity - embrace an Agile mindset to tackle challenges.
