Job Description BAE Systems is seeking junior level GMD Configuration Management Engineers to join our team on successful award of the upcoming Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) System Integration, Test and Readiness (SITR) contract. Currently in the pre-solicitation phase, an award is anticipated in the September 2022 timeframe.
They will become a member of the multi-disciplinary team that supports the GMD Program Office, as Lead Systems Integrator, in all aspects of GMD Configuration Management and verification. Responsibilities will include the development and execution of GMD configuration management in accordance with our GMD Element Configuration Management Execution Plan, the development and maintenance of configuration management tools and the execution on functional and physical Configuration Audits.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of Configuration Management approaches and tools. They will support GMD Configuration Management on a day to day basis and have the ability to communicate effectively within our team.
It is preferred that the successful candidate reside in the Huntsville, AL area.
The successful candidate must possess:
- Knowledge of relevant Configuration Management processes, approaches and tools
The ability to work within multi-disciplinary and multi-contractor teams to ensure the objectives of the program are met.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
- 0-2 years of progressive experience in a Configuration Management discipline
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and organize all tasking with supervision
- Good communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to interact with team members on a daily basis
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - 3-5 years progressive experience in a Configuration Management discipline
