We are seeking a 5G/Fiber Engineering Manager. Leidos is a trusted and future-focused solutions provider. This engineering manager role is within the distribution design engineering arm of Leidos’ Power Delivery Solutions (PDS) group. Utilities consistently come to PDS for reliable power expertise, as reflected through our work with more than 50 investor-owned utilities and more than 160 municipals/cooperatives across the country as well as a growing number of local utility providers and private developers. Our project portfolio includes large energy projects for electric utilities, power generation owners, and industrial clients. This position will be responsible for supporting 5G and Fiber engineering throughout the Northern and Midwest regions of the United States. This role will manage a team of designers, engineers, drafters, and field technicians to accomplish designs for various fiber clients. The engineering manager will also support business development, proposal development, creation of marketing materials, and driving the implementation of automation.
Additional Responsibilities for this role will include:
Execution of existing design programs for various clients
Financial monitoring and reporting
Team hiring and development
To be qualified for this role, candidates must have:
Previous experience in 3rd party make ready design and engineering
Previous experience in Pole Modeling
Advanced knowledge in NESC
Proven Organizational Skills
Some understanding of financial metrics
The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated individual with proven organizational and leadership skills. A Professional Engineer license and Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline are preferred, but not required.
