Job Description

BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors is hiring a Configuration Management Analyst to focus on System Technical Support (STS) contracts. This role can be on-site or hybrid on-site (50% or more on-site), and will be on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. We may consider other Combat Mission Systems locations or telecommute.

As a Senior Configuration Analyst, you will perform the following activities related to Configuration Management (CM) planning and management:

  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Explain solutions, practices, and procedures to others in the organization according to procedure
  • Identify errors in the release process; recommend improvements based on CM standards and internal procedures
  • Create and maintain documentation for tools used to support configuration management.
  • Record, classify and analyze engineering change requests for completeness and accuracy;
  • Request additional information from originator, if required, and obtain all appropriate approvals
  • Respond to inquiries from engineering personnel regarding the Change management process flow and ability to assist them in ensuring of engineering change requests,
  • Review change drawing documentation to determine that the change analysis requirements are in compliance with established company practices and the Configuration Management Plan
  • Work daily in a PLM (product lifecycle management) system to provide for systematic release and distribution of released drawings and associated documentation
  • Assure the continuity of product design configuration by reviewing and analyzing initial drawings/documents and implementing approved engineering changes in relation to drawings/documents
  • Ensure all applicable specifications or MIL-Standard requirements have been adhered to , Ensure all internal CM processes and procedures have been followed
  • Process and ensure accuracy with engineering change proposals (ECP) and related documents resulting from a change request
  • Provide for systematic release and distribution of formal drawings and associated documentation
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with functional personnel in Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Procurement and Manufacturing
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with customers and configuration management personnel
  • Support Operational Excellence efforts to promote consistency with CM practices across the engineering directorate

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Associate's degree in a relevant technical discipline with 6 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of industry standards including EIA-649C, ISO 10007, and CMMI.
  • DoD contract experience.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant configuration management and design engineering standards, manufacturing processes and documentation.
  • Experience processing CDRLs
  • Good planning, time management and organization skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills used when interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with Company personnel, customers, and suppliers.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience Leading DoD Task Orders or Work Directives
  • Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) Management
  • Knowledge and Experience with Contractual Language
  • PTC Windchill PDM experience
  • Oracle Experience
  • CM Certification such as CMPIC, CMII, NDIA
