Responsible for implementing activities of the Base Equipment Control Officer (BECO) and Base Software License Manager (BSLM) ensuring goals are accomplished for the Maxwell BOS contract.


Consults with management and reviews project and task proposals to determine goals, time frame and procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources. Perform or provide oversight of BECO program, policies and procedures governing DoD networks. Manage the USAF Defense Property Accounting System (DPAS) program. Manage and track government-owned and leased computer systems equipment. Maintains IT equipment in accordance with established practices and guidelines, including existing constraints and directives imposed by the DoD network systems. Manage the base IT hardware reutilization program (i.e. Computers for Learning) and disposal of excess equipment. Perform or provide oversight of BSLM program, policies and procedures governing DoD networks. Manage and track all Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) products and licenses governing DoD networks. Develop, coordinate and schedule training and Staff Assisted Visits (SAVs). Manages requests and provides technical solution for new software requirements. Prepares status reports, metrics and keeps management, clients, and others informed of status. Provide problem-solving support to base Information Technology Equipment (ITE) Property Custodians (PC) and Unit Software License Managers (USLM). Responsible for interfacing directly with the customer about their technical issues. Assists users, provides technical assistance, training, issue resolution, and updates the customer on the resolution progress. Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones and required tasks. Assists in developing and maintaining technical documentation. Responsible for educating one-self on the policies and procedures governing DoD networks. Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements.


Education/Certifications: Associate’s degree in an associated Information Technology discipline preferred. High school diploma required. Licenses or Certifications Required: 1. Valid State driver’s license 2. Other IT certifications are highly desired Experience: Three (3) years’ experience with Information Management solutions. Two (2) years of experience in related field may be substituted for each year of college. Skills: 1. Operational knowledge of Inventory Management principles. 2. Operational knowledge of Base Equipment Control Officer (BECO). 3. Operational knowledge of Base Unit Software License Manger (BSLM). 4. Basic knowledge of Electronic Records Management (ERM). 5. General PC Skills, to include the ability to enter information via keyboard. 6. Excellent written and verbal skills. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers. 7. Current on the latest technological advances within the IT industry.
