Job Description BAE Systems is seeking Associate Maintenance Electronics Technicians to be part of our experienced technical team at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops, Island, VA. SCSC is located on a barrier island on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and is a tenant of the NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility. SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the following functions: combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in Live at-sea and air exercises. SCSC provides a high-fidelity combat systems capable of replicating the configuration of every ship in the AEGIS and Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today, as well as future ship platforms.

The selected candidate will perform the following tasks:
1) Ensure the readiness, safety, security and cleanliness of electronic equipment spaces
2) Participate in man-aloft maintenance activities to a height of 200'
3) Participate in the Navy Tag-out and audit process, including SCSC Blue Tag program and audits
4) Conduct inventories on circuit boards and modules in electronic systems
5) Inventory and accountability of tools and electronics test equipment
6) Execute Pre-Class B Overhaul preparations
7) Adhere to the Navy 3M system, policy, processes and regulations
8) Complete maintenance administrative tasks including 2K's, Shift passdowns and CSESS
9) Fiber and copper cable dressing and cable management
10) Breaker Panel schedule auditing
11) Support AAP Audits
12) Non-Complex Preventive Maintenance activities including filter cleanings and equipment clean/inspect.

This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Minimum education and years of related/relevant experience required: High School/GED and at least 2 years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective/preventive maintenance on electrical and/or mechanical systems and/or equipment, or an Associates Degree in a technical discipline. PQS 301 qualification is required. If selected candidate is not PQS 301 qualified on or before hire date, he/she must be willing and able to obtain PQS 301 qualification within first three months of employment.

Security clearance requirement: This position requires the successful candidate to be able to obtain a Secret level clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirements. You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance. Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until an interim Secret clearance is granted.
