Summary of Job Duties:The Budget and Planning Manager is responsible and accountable for managing and balancing position budget templates to Workday, and meets with Department Chairs and/or Administrators regularly for updates related to positions and payroll cost allocations.

The Manager works with the Department Chairs and Administrators in the development of payroll budget and ensures all positions are funded positions before the hiring process takes place.

The Manager is responsible for payroll budget allocation, salary and budget savings tracking, seating of graduate assistants in Workday, DAF/DDF graduate assistant reconciliations, and graduate assistant tuition waiver assignments.

The Budget and Planning Manager will assist the Director of Budget and Planning with the annual budget cycle preparation and entries for the College of Arts and Sciences.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, general business or a related field

  • At least four years of experience in fiscal operations, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience with Accounting and Financial Reporting at the University of Arkansas

  • Experience with Workday

  • Experience with university payroll processing

  • Two years of supervisory experience

  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Excel

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for this position (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and database management.

  • Ability to comprehend and assimilate technical and business-related documents.

  • Ability to conduct research and prepare reports.

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated professionalism

  • Ability to manage complex Excel spreadsheets

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to multi-task and to be detail-oriented
