Summary of Job Duties:Tutors are responsible for leading one on one or group sessions that cater to students in need of academic assistance. Tutors are responsible for integrating effective learning and study strategies, clarifying and reinforcing course context, help with assignments, and preparing students for course exams. Tutors support classroom instruction by helping students become better learners and gain the confidence and skills.
Tutors must provide tutoring in math, science, nursing, and/or additional subjects in person and remotely; provide a high level of customer service support to students, faculty, staff, and community; serve as a role model for students; work well with students with different backgrounds; be patient and be able to motivate others; build open and honest relationships through excellent verbal and written communication; perform in a team focused environment; have strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills; have the ability to easily learn and navigate software problems and other forms of technology; provide limited tech support and maintain equipment; restock supplies; assist in events and campus activities; record data; open/close facilities; and other job duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- GED or High School Diploma needed
- 3.0 or higher-grade point
- B or higher in the desired courses to tutor
