Job Summary

The primary objective of this position is to plan and manage capital procurement activities to meet the needs of the Information Technology group and other groups as needed. This position ensures that a well-defined, well-documented sourcing process is followed that ensures contractual expectations and objectives are met. Manages the development, negotiation and implementation of major contracts in accordance with deliberate, planned, sourcing strategies and category objectives; continues to re-source recurring contractual commitments on a as needed; manages emergent project work in support of operations; and manages key supplier relationships. Works closely with internal stakeholders and technology suppliers to ensure warranties, service levels and other contractual agreements are met.

Please note that this position is hybrid, comprised of remote and in-office (local to the Long Island office) work. PSEG reserves the right to amend the hybrid model at any time.

Job Responsibilities

The position has responsibility to assure continuity of supply for key contracted materials and services during regular intervals and during outages. In addition, this position handles technically complex projects and commercial negotiations in support of information technology and telecommunications projects including software as a service (SaaS) contracts. The primary responsibilities for this position are the management and administration of contracts for various projects including: (a) managing change orders, claims and back charges; (b) asserting warranty claims; (c) developing methods for assessing contractor performance; and (d) implementing the appropriate processes and controls for protecting and preserving the Company's contractual rights and remedies. For new contracts, this position will be responsible for planning, developing and coordinating innovative contracting strategies and solutions with internal clients, and assessing the qualifications and capabilities of contractors through RFPs and / or other evaluation processes.
The Contracting Manager also leads commercial negotiations and provides contract management services across theinformation technology organization. The Contracting Manager is responsible for sourcing and managing additional contract management professionals as needed.
This position, at times, requires management of the logistics support required to restore electrical service to customers during and after normal working hours and may require on-call duty during these periods – which may include holidays and weekends.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and a minimum of 6 years of experience sourcing for large Capital Procurement Projects; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of related experience of which 6 years are in sourcing for large Capital Procurement projects.
• Demonstrated strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Understanding of projects and scheduling
• Must have and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license with a safe driving record

• SAP, Ariba, and e-sourcing applicationsexperience
• 5+ years IT and Telecommunications Contract Management experience
• Graduate degree in business or law
• Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification
• Supplier Diversity Experience and / or certification (e.g., CPSD)
• Lean six sigma or other business process optimization experience
• Contract Management / Construction / project management experience and / or certification (e.g., PMP)
• Ability to appropriately assess contractual risk and implement risk management strategies; implement measures and methods to tie payment to performance; monitor and manage cost and change; define and manage deliverables and respective responsibilities between the Company and the contractor
