Shop Technician Level 2

The Shop Technician Level 2
General Functions:
Will perform multiple assignments in support of machining, mechanical assembly, repair, refurbishment of equipment, components or tooling systems. Perform mechanical and visual inspections. Continue to develop and apply basic skills in at least two of the following nuclear equipment services, or develop and apply basic skills in one of the following plus one of the operating plant product line services: Machinist and Mechanic. Perform nuclear service functions of a similar nature as directed. Position may be subject to the requirements of both Westinghouse and customer "Security" and "Fitness for Duty" programs.
Your Day to Day:
Duties and Responsibilities
Level II/Standard Training
Site specific training, Radiation safety, Hazard communication, Respiratory protection and rigging. ANSI II - Mechanical (Machinist) and complete Qualifications as applicable
Safety
Demonstrate, understand and practice Human Performance Tools, INPO Principals, Industrial Health & Safety, and ALARA principals, specific security requirements, and the importance of observing both Westinghouse and customer license requirements. Participation and contribution of observations in the shop. Acquire, comprehend and apply Nuclear Culture Safety requirements.
Maintenance
Clean parts by various methods, sharpen hand tools and organize Supplies.
Inspections
Mechanical inspections include:
Physically measuring the product with measuring & testing equipment
Who You Are:
Duties and Responsibilities
Education
High School degree or equivalent required
Higher level of education – Associates degree preferred in electrical/mechanical field preferred
Experience
A minimum of 2 years of nuclear experience is required. Ability to read and work to a drawing. Ability to weld in the 6G position with GMAW,SMAW process’s. Ability to pass 6G weld test, steel and Inconel. Able to weld in 3G and 4G position GMAW process.
4 years of nuclear experience preferred
Acetylene and plasma torch cutting experience preferred
Familiar with welding in a PAPR weld hood prferred
Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies:
Electrical & Mechanical: Operating various equipment. Skills required but not limited to: Assembly of pumps, seals, Auxillary motors and Reactor Coolant Pump motors.
Certifications
ANSI II mechanical and/or electrical certifications
