ASSISTANT NURSE MANAGER-SUB ACUTE CARE
Job Description:
Unit Summary:Hall 1 is a 45 bed long-term care sub-acute unit. Patients here stay anywhere from 4-8 weeks while in recovery from a variety of issues such as heart failure, diabetes, joint surgeries, etc. Staff members must be compassionate, motivated and dedicated to helping others in need.Position Summary:The Assistant Nurse Manager is a supportive role to the Nurse Manager. This role has 24/7 accountability with a focus on improving and sustaining positive patient outcomes, the patient experience, facilitating patient throughput, staff engagement, operations and change management. In addition, it will be a requirement for this individual to maintain basic nursing skills as required by the his/her specialty. The individual must demonstrate basic competence in clinical, ethical and legal aspects surrounding the provision of patient care. In the absence of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager will assume full oversight and responsibilities for their assigned unit/s.Requirements:Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field. 3-5 years of experience. RN license in MD required, CPR with the American Heart Association required. ACLS required within 6 months of employment.
