Privacy Analyst
Responsibilities
The Office of Compliance Services is seeking to hire a Privacy Analyst to provide support to the Privacy Program, which services UCLA Health and its Affiliates. Primary duties include:
*Provide guidance on privacy related initiatives and serve as the subject matter expert on privacy laws and regulations
*Identify and guide resolution for privacy compliance issues
*Perform privacy investigations; participate in privacy projects and audits
*Prepare and maintain documentation related to privacy compliance or privacy requirements
*Experience working in an academic medical center environment with emphasis on professional privacy and compliance activities, including but not limited to: auditing, monitoring, investigation and training is highly desirable
*In-depth knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations affecting the management of protected health information (PHI)
*In-depth knowledge of federal and state statutes, laws, rules and regulations affecting privacy practices
*Working knowledge of the 7 elements of an effective compliance program
*Experience in navigating electronic health records systems, such as EPIC, is highly preferred
*Certification in CHC, CHPC, CIPP is a bonus
*Excellent communication skills
*Strong organizational skills with ability to analyze and synthesize information quickly
