Lab Assistant I
Responsibilities
Assist in the research goals of the Peng laboratory under the direct supervision of the PI. A bachelor's degree or above is required, and prior working experience in the lab is required.Duty: Manage chemical inventory and ensure the laboratory maintains current safety standards. Lab ordering. Maintain the mouse colony, genotype transgenic animals, and development of new methods for genotyping. Tissue dissection and section. In situ hybridization. Flowcytometry. Stem cell culture. Molecular cloning. Confocal imaging. Assist lab members in preparation of experiments. Potential for independent research projects.Qualifications
Required:
Skill in scientific writing, literature
review
Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel
and Power Point
Ability to utilize a PC and Mac
Ability to take initiative and work on a
self-directed basis with limited supervision
Skill in data and database management
Ability to interact and communicate
effectively
Strong organizational skills
Previously experience working in a research
laboratory
Preferred:
Ability to prioritize activities with
conflicting deadlines
Ability to write concisely and clearly, edit, and
proofread to ensure grammatically correct and factual correspondence
