Responsibilities

Provides direct social work services, including assessment, intervention, and recommendations to individual patients and their families. Participates in interdisciplinary activities, complies with departmental standards regarding attendance, documentation, continuous quality improvement, statistics, departmental policies and procedures, and the Code of Ethics. Keeps current with professional social work health care knowledge base and pursues further enhancement of job-related knowledge. Understands clinical operations, medical issues and complications in transplant patients.Qualifications

Clinical Social Worker II, and III

A Master's Degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Post-masters social work experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong relationship building skills. Excellent problem solving ability. Demonstrated skill in psychosocial assessments of patient / families, clinical interventions, and treatment planning with patients and families. Demonstrated work with interdisciplinary teams

Must have basic computer knowledge and word processing skills (Use is frequent).

Must carry beeper during normal work hours and respond to pages in a timely manner (Use is frequent)

Must operate telephone, fax, and copy machines (Use is frequent).

Must participate in at least one area of specialized practice annually (see list of specialized practice activities).

Clinical Social Worker II - MSW Required

Clinical Social Worker III's must possess a current license (L.C.S.W.) with the California Board of Behavioral Science.
