Clinic Coordinator-Venice
Responsibilities
Venice Family Clinic is a community health center whose
mission is 'To provide quality primary health care to people in need.' Venice
Family Clinic cares for over 27,000 low-income patients in over 120,000 visits
annually who might otherwise go without critically needed health care services.
Venice Family Clinic has fourteen locations with over 420 staff, 1,300
volunteers, and a budget of $70 million. We provide high quality, comprehensive
primary and specialty health care, dental, mental health, substance use
treatment and child development services to underserved individuals and
families on the Westside of Los Angeles.
In this role, you will coordinate the delivery of health care services
to patients in a primary health care clinic. You will provide administrative support to medical providers and medical
staff, discharge patients after medical
visits, arrange for follow-up appointments and process referrals for Medi-Cal,
Medicare, Managed Care and County. You will also request authorizations using the Web Portal
and E-consult and perform data collection
and perform extensive patient tracking and follow-up care.
- Skill at coordinating the delivery of health
care services to patients in a primary health care setting - Required. - Strong interpersonal skills to work
effectively with people of diverse cultural, educational, economical, and
social backgrounds - Required. - Strong written and verbal communication
skills in both English and Spanish - Required. - Ability to schedule patient appointment using
computerized scheduling system - Will Train. - Ability to discharge patients using NextGen Electronic
Health Record system and follow up as necessary - Required. - Ability to triage medical problems - Required.
- General knowledge of health education, public
health, and medical terminology - Preferred. - Working knowledge of medical/social service
agencies in the West Los Angeles area - Preferred. - Ability to work evenings as needed - Required.
- Ability to train volunteers - Required.
- Valid California
driver's license and proof of auto insurance - Required.
