Staff Research Associate
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, you will assist in performing molecular and cell culture experiments. Duties include but are not limited to animal husbandry, tissue preparation and analysis, assist with grant preparation and submission, maintain inventory of the lab and equipment in working order as well as laboratory supplies in sufficient quantities.QualificationsREQUIRED:
Detailed knowledge of molecular biology principles and practices.
General knowledge of the safe and proper handling and disposal of applicable specimens, material and equipment.
Ability to perform laboratory procedures using applicable equipment and techniques.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to use computers and related software applications.
Ability to lift, transport and deliver materials and stock lab supplies and goods.
Mathematical skills to calculate measurements and interpret results of experiments.
Ability to work flexible hours and occasional weekends and evenings.
Knowledge and ability to return and/or correct orders as needed by the laboratories and clinical staff.
PREFERRED:
BS to Ph.D. in Physiology, Biochemistry or Biology major degree in biochemistry, molecular biology and cardiac physiology majors.
