Practice Area Profile BCG's Insurance Practice serves four industry sectors:  Life insurance,  Property & Casualty,  Commercial & Reinsurance and  Health, as well as Insurance brokerage firms. The practice works on the full range of issues of concern to top management, from strategy to operating model redesign,  digital transformation, cost, process improvement,  risk management strategy, asset management, product development, customer focus, and sales force effectiveness. We have a strong global network and "on-the-ground" experience in all major markets. The Global Practice currently comprises over 200 senior staff and works in Europe, Middle East, the Americas, and Asia Pacific, with a total of 44 insurance active offices worldwide. What You'll Do As part of our Insurance practice, you will work with clients on a range of projects and topics across the insurance value-chain including strategy development, sales force effectiveness, compliance, benchmarking, forecasting, operational model redesign, risk management, digital transformation, customer focus, and more. The insurance industry is entering a new era as changing consumer needs and expectations place new demands on existing players. You will create value for our clients with forward-thinking solutions that help them address the operational, technical, and financial implications of changes in their business environment. Project Leaders play a key role on client engagements, managing studies to define client needs and supervising research activities to obtain relevant data. Project Leaders oversee the formulation of hypotheses for research and investigation, and the advanced financial analysis of client, competitor, and industry data. They apply knowledge of business principles and industrial organization, develop actionable recommendations, and supervise work including strategic due diligence, product development studies, change management plans, and the evaluation of long-term investment opportunities. Project Leaders are also responsible for managing client contact and play a key role in the development and maintenance of high-level client relationships. As the senior person most frequently at the client site, Principals interact with the client lead on a day-to-day basis to ensure that expectations are aligned. Principals provide the project management oversight required to meet client expectations. Responsibilities may include the development of presentations, managing of external relationships and consultant work progress, providing status reports, and overseeing budgets. Projects vary based on client needs, but the importance of seeing possibilities where other people find limits will be a constant. Project Leaders and Principals go deep to unlock insight, challenge established thinking, drive transformation, improve performance, and deliver bottom-line impact. What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications) 4+ years post-MBA consulting experience, preferably within the insurance industry. 4+ years of experience across multiple insurance topics, such as: Property & Casualty Life & Retirement Group Insurance Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for conceptual thinking. Ability to develop leading edge business models, frameworks for financial analysis, and long-term business strategies that maximize shareholder value. Strong management and communication skills. Must be comfortable delivering formal presentations to senior management. A solid track record of building strong client relationships with large organizations, as well as identifying opportunities to deepen those relationships and grow the business. Advanced business degree from a top-tier institution preferred. The first year base compensation for this role is: Project Leader: $225,400 USD Principal: $252,900 USD In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus and BCG’s Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF) contribution.
