The Opportunity
This position works out of our Plano, TX location in the Neuromodulation Division. Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum.
This position is responsible for development of software used to control test and/or process equipment hardware in a medical device manufacturing environment. Also included in the scope of this position are programs for automating process control activities and data capture / reporting. The software solutions developed by this position will support manufacturing through both new development efforts as well as maintenance and improvement of existing software systems.
What You’ll Work On
- Develop and maintain non-product software for manufacturing test and process hardware systems
- Proactively develop solutions for yield and process improvement
- Lead a cross-functional team to define and implement solutions
- Create software validation and verification procedures
- Deploy process improvements and new product introductions to manufacturing
- Technical ability to independently complete moderate to high complexity software projects from start to finish (C, C++, C#, CVI, LabVIEW, Lab Windows, and similar)
- Drive for continuous improvement

- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Required Qualifications
- B.S. Software Engineering, B.S. Electrical Engineering, or B.S. Computer Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Full Software Development Lifecycle, including:
- Project Planning
- Requirements Definition
- Risk Analysis
- Development
- Testing / Troubleshooting
- Documentation
- Release
- Maintenance
- Minimum 3 years experience hardware / software integration and testing
- Development / implementation of hardware drivers for control and measurement functions
- Scripting experience for data collection and analysis (e.g. Perl, Python, shell scripting, or similar)
- Strong experience using C#, LabVIEW
- Experience implementing and interacting with databases
- Software verification and validation
- Part 11 Compliance / Data Integrity experience
- Ability to travel up to 5%, including internationally
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical device experience or other highly regulated industry
- Experience in development of automated test or process equipment
- 6+ years of experience covering the entire software lifecycle
