Our plant in Fairfield, California, currently has an opportunity for a Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift (1:30 PM - 10:30 PM Pacific, Mondays – Fridays). This location is Abbott’s only manufacturing plant that makes its Zone Perfect and Glucerna nutrition bars, with 180 million bars produced annually. THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift (1:30 PM - 10:30 PM Pacific, Mondays – Fridays) is responsible for directing the manufacturing operations performed in a shift or group of production lines, ensuring they reach volume, quality, and cost goals. The role will work onsite at our Fairfield, California manufacturing plant.
Model and promote the behaviors that ensure delivery of high quality products for our customers while championing compliance with Abbott policies and procedures, meeting all local and statutory requirements, and adhering to the regulatory requirements of countries to which products are shipped
Lead efforts required to deliver Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) performance
Prepare and actively participate in internal and external EHS audits and incident/accident investigation and reporting; coupled with timely implementation of corrective and preventative actions
Lead efforts required to deliver quality and compliance performance
Model and drive continuous improvement programs utilizing operational excellence and common tools and methodologies in processes and procedures
Responsible for the overall results for a single shift of multi shift manufacturing lines
Additional accountability could include providing overall manufacturing leadership for shift manufacturing operations along with responsibility for individual team Drive Operating Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) objectives, understand drivers, and developing and executing plans around improvement of line performance and quality metrics
Develop plans and execute efforts required to train and develop employees to improve overall manufacturing capability to deliver performance results
Assure team members are trained and understand duties, responsibilities, and performance against established expectations
Directly supervise team and lead staffing activities
Ensure compliance with all HR policies and procedures
Champion positive employee relations by maintaining a high profile presence on the floor, direct engagement with employees, regular open communications and encouraging knowledge sharing and open exchange of ideas
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree
2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing industry or relevant industry, within a supervisor role
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated leadership experience
2 or more years of experience in the food or beverage manufacturing industry, within a leadership role
Lean Six Sigma skills – experience implementing Continuous Improvement tools & methodologies

The salary for this role is between $56,700 – $113,300
