Sustainability Manager – Global Partnerships
The role of the Sustainability Manager – Global Partnerships is part of the Global Sustainability Team, which brings together environmental experts in support of the GSK targets and commitments. Our commitments are a 2030 climate goal, to be Net Zero carbon emissions across our entire value chain, from discovering new medicines to what happens to a product at the end of its life cycle; and our 2030 Net Positive nature goal, which addresses how we use and impact water, materials and packaging, and our impact on biodiversity. That means reducing our environmental impact as far as possible, investing in restoration programmes to balance the remaining impact we can't reduce, and aiming to put back into nature more than we take out.
Responsibilities
- Manage key existing partnerships and identify new ones to deliver GSK’s climate and nature targets, with focus on nature protection and restoration for climate, nature, and health co-benefits
- Implement our carbon offsetting strategy through supporting selection and management of partners that will deliver nature-based solutions to drive co-benefits for climate, nature, and health and deliver carbon credits to GSK
- Operational management of the LEAF coalition
- Provide thought leadership, market expertise as well as leadership to develop and track key metrics for internal and external reporting, forecasting and road mapping against our targets and commitments (carbon offsetting, nature restoration, Race to Resilience etc)
- Represent GSK with key partners and at key external events, identify and champion opportunities for GSK to enter in new collaborations and partnerships
- Provide thought leadership and intelligence to the group with analysis of evolving practices and guidelines around nature-based solutions, co-benefit measurement, voluntary carbon market, biodiversity credits markets and turn them into actionable insights
- Manage partnerships, related projects, and budgets with a high level of autonomy. Drive partnerships KPIs design, selection, and management with a particular focus on measuring co-benefits
- Collaborate internally with Procurement, Finance, Communications, and other stakeholders to accelerate delivery and enhance performance
- Maintain the relevant policy and standards, enabling an aligned approach
- Deep dive on pertinent risks and external developments impacting delivery of targets

Basic Qualifications
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Experience in partnership set-up and management, preferred if sustainability related
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to use data to back up assumptions and develop business cases
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, verbal and written and to present coherent arguments to achieve the desired outcome with a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and analytical thinking, ability to convert strategy to operation and track multiple partnerships and projects running at the same time
- Previous Project Management experience, ideally working with external partners.
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
If you have any of the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business or Environmental related fields
- Knowledge of nature protection and restoration practices, gained through experience in similar roles
- Passion/curiosity for the connection between climate, nature and health and ambition to measure impact of nature intervention on community health
- You have a curious mindset, you are an explorer, you get excited by setting up and delivering new partnerships for ambitious outcomes
- Comfortable with pushing boundaries, breaking barriers and siloes to bring together disciplines and experts for systemic change
- Knowledge and experience in the voluntary carbon market (VCMI, IVCM etc)
