The purpose of the role is to give Elida Beauty a direct contact for any environmental and sustainability guidance and support. Aid the business and our brands in their journey to become more efficient and resourceful. Bring and transfer knowledge to all different stakeholders within the business. Sustain compliance and build a model to constantly improve our environmental footprint, reducing carbon usage and waste streams.

  • The post holder will be a core member of the Global Elida Beauty SHEQ Team, working across a range of topics encompassing environmental compliance and guidance, assisting the head of SHEQ and Global SHE Director in any environmental disasters and emergencies.
  • Encourage our business partners (3PM’s and 3PL’s) to use new technologies that mitigate waste, energy and water use.
  • Liaise with marketing through our R&D channels which brings awareness to our consumers and investors from a sustainability perspective.
  • Scale-up and develop sustainability plans with the Elida Beauty Brand leaders. Helping brands develop a resourceful product that’s contributes to business growth and a positive impact to our consumers and business partners.
  • Create environmental KPI’s against our climate footprint, tracking all waste and energy usage within each brand, identifying cost saving within its operation.
  • Help brief Elida Beauty members and business partners at any relevant meetings and speaking events or on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Work closely with category Comms teams to identify external advocacy strategies for key internal spokespeople and champions of issues.
  • Monitor the industry for best practice and new innovative technologies and designs (product material, energy efficiency and usage perspective)
  • Attend industry conferences and seminars in order to stay up to date with latest technologies, innovation and news to support Elida Beauty.
  • Advise and monitor business unit regions on their environmental performance. Waste management arrangements, material usage, permits and legal duties.
  • Keep up to date with relevant environmental trends, legislations and best practices
  • Understands the processes for the measurement and management of environmental impact, including resource planning/conservation, waste minimisation and carbon footprint. Then advise the business of how this can reduced/improved
  • Report and communicates results, issues, and improvements to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support any major projects from an environmental and sustainability perspective (Waste water treatment plants, new manufacturing and distribution sites etc)
  • Coordinate with our third party business partners on environmental performance
  • Coordinates and track
  • Plan, organise, coach and motivate our workforce and business partners to optimise environmental performance. (Training plan with content)
  • Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of current waste systems supporting the site manufacturing process
  • Develop criteria for environmental and sustainability governance and third party audits for the SHEQ team
  • Participate in external audits of third parties when required

Experience:

  • Experience in a similar [Register to View] degree in Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
  • Experience in leading environmental projects on energy, water, CO2, and waste reduction is preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, personal care products preferred
  • Environmental professional (EP) certification or ability to become certified (IEMA)
  • Background and expertise with regulatory environmental compliance requirements.
  • Auditing, both internal and external
