Senior Manager, Media Planning, Client Success
As part of the Walgreens Advertising Group retail media planning team, the Sr Manager, Media Planning, Pharma & Healthcare will play a key role in providing oversight and expertise across onsite, offsite and email/CRM and in-store media strategy and planning. As a core leader on the Walgreens retail media team, this individual will have responsibility for ensuring there is sound and scalable process to support media planning, buying, execution and success for clients that are in the pharma and healthcare vertical. With prior experience in automated media planning and buying for pharma and healthcare clients, the Sr Manager Digital Media Planning will have working knowledge of all campaigns in strategy, planning and execution phase as well as will be responsible for the holistic management of client relationships and organically developing partnerships.
The Sr Manager will have various team members reporting to them, with an ability to support prioritization, solutioning and problem-solving to achieve client goals and manage expectations and needs of various parts of the team. The ideal candidate will have a strategic, analytical, collaborative mindset with the ability to manage omnichannel initiatives to steward campaigns toward successful outcomes.
With expertise in one or more of the practice areas, the Sr Manager, Media Planning is accountable to ensuring media plans are established to achieve reasonable campaign goals, and that the team is constantly developing advanced strategies to execute scaled solutions – through reduced human requirements, greater automation, collaboration with other parts of the organization, etc. Having the ability to think more broadly than a given campaign is paramount to success – this team member has proven success in multitasking and executing flawlessly, with speed.

Job Responsibilities
- Accountable for the direction of the daily operational activities that develop and implement multiple components / processes for a specified section of work or a major section of work within the digital space, such as Merchandising, eHealth, Photo, User Experience, Plan, Operations, On-line Technology and/or Marketing.
- Performs as subject matter advisor to functional area and may become agilely involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems highly complex in nature.
- Develops protocols to support established standards. Oversees team(s) assigned to projects and may guide implementations.
- Shares information cross-functionally to improve workflow processes. Interacts with direct reports and peers in organization / customers / vendors to share information and improve cross-departmental processes.
- Oversees the development of technical/business approaches and new or enhanced technical tools.
- Makes recommendations for specified area of responsibility regarding the operating plans of the functional unit, then, based on prevailing conditions may realign the daily operations of assigned functional area.
- Develops budget for functional area. Accountable for area budget and delivering against business goals/objectives.
- Reviews reports and metrics and identifies opportunities to grow and optimize consumer awareness, market share and/or specified initiatives. . Reviews and analyzes the competitive marketplace for patterns and trends and may make recommendations/adjustments to operational activities based upon identified information.
- Oversees and manages managers, supervisors and individual contributors. Allocates available resources to meet operating objectives. Ensures the ongoing training and development of direct reports. Develops and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance administration processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace
- Oversight of campaign teams who are planning media inclusive of onsite (Walgreens.com), offsite (programmatic, search & social), email/CRM and in-store campaigns for suppliers
- Management of client relationships, fostering organic growth and acceleration of partnerships with Walgreens retail media business, Walgreens Advertising Group
- Direct management of team members, with ability to train, coach and iterate on processes to drive success for campaigns
- Collaboration with media teams and supporting agencies, analytics, sales and operations teams to ensure timely, effective solutions for supporting audience-led media business
- Serve as the media strategy and planning expert within the organization – with a focus on upleveling self and team to continue driving toward media excellence and flawless planning and execution

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience in Merchandising, Marketing, eCommerce, Healthcare, Strategy, Finance, IT and/or Operations OR High school / GED and at least 7 years of experience in Merchandising, Marketing, eCommerce, Healthcare, Strategy, Finance, IT and/or Operations
- Experience establishing maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, including the executive level
- Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions
- Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
- Experience leading cross-functional teams
- Experience interacting at the executive level
- At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace
- At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree / MBA
