Bilingual Human Resources Manager

Due to growth in our California market, we are currently seeking an HR Manager to join our Western Region team. This position will be based in California and will ideally office in the El Dorado Hills/ Placerville, CA area. Bilingual in Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
As the Bilingual Region HR Manager-California, you'll support Waste Connections sites throughout California. You will be the primary human resources support for operating locations in 18 cities, spanning from Red Bluff to LA County. You will provide counsel to local leaders on complex employee relations matters to support the 1200 employees in California. You will conduct fact finding investigations and through a consultative approach you will problem solve, influence resolution and mitigate risk. As part of the leadership team, you'll play a role in the strategic planning and execution of initiatives that impact employees.
Essential Duties:
- Serves as a strategic partner to leadership in decisions impacting our most valuable resource – people.
- Participates in projects and planning that support employee development and success.
- Collaborates with managers, employees and corporate HR to help resolve employee relations issues that arise throughout the employment life cycle Assists region and division managers with integrating newly acquired companies/employees.
- Analyzes data to help drive results (such as turnover data, internal/external market data) and makes recommendations to management based upon findings and best practices.
- Understands business strategy, financial drivers, and aligns HR plans to meet company goals.
- Remains educated on California wage & hour and employment law; educates and advises managers accordingly.
- Responds to internal and external inquiries regarding policies, procedures, programs, and other people matters.
What You Have To Have:
- Minimum 7+years progressively responsible Employee Relations experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field
- PHR/SPHR (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) California certification preferred
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
- Advanced knowledge of US employment laws
- Strong influencing skills with proven success in influencing employees at all levels of the organization through collaboration and communication
- Ability to travel up to 30% often without advance notice within the state of California
- Ability to be confidential with sensitive information
- Interpersonal and organizational consulting, delivery and facilitation skills
- Ability to remain professional in high stress situations
- Sound judgment, decision making, and problem-solving skills
- Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple matters and projects
Pay:
- $100K-$200K and position is eligible for bonus and equity grants
