Waste Connections is looking to hire a Shop Maintenance Clerk to join our team in Vancouver, WA.

Schedule will be Monday through Friday 6:00am-2:30Pm. Starting Wage is $22.00-25.00/HR DOE. Wage Range is $22.00-25.00/HR.

Job duties for Maintenance Clerk.

  • Assist the Maintenance Manager with general clerical work, data entry and parts inventory.

  • Answer vendor phone calls and assist with ordering as needed.

  • Actively work with vendors, mechanics and management as needed.

  • Gather, input, retrieve and maintain maintenance information in both computer and manual systems

  • Provide general clerical work to assure the smooth operation of the Maintenance Department

  • General clerical duties, including filing, photocopying, faxing, posting of notices, and ordering of parts and supplies as directed

  • Develop and issue computer reports as requested

  • Assist with and/or prepare materials

  • Prepare summary reports of transportation and maintenance costs

  • Research availability and source of purchase for emergency and critical spare parts and repair parts

  • Compile information such as identification of items, cost, vendor, freight charges, etc. for purchasing of all maintenance materials

  • Prepare all purchase requisitions, coordinate and expedite approvals as required, maintain all budgetary records and provide follow-up action with accounting, buyers, vendors, requestor's and receiving

  • Review documents for sufficiency and maintaining any necessary follow-up

  • Maintain all files and inventory records of all orders placed and received, including delivery time schedules

  • Assist shop personnel with general clerical and data entry work

  • Utilize parts management software (RTA), Excel and other MS Office programs

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and effective use of software applications. These systems should include as a minimum MS Word and Excel

  • Aid and Support the Customer Service Staff / Dispatch using TRUX and other related functions

Requirements include:

  • 2 – 4 years shop administrative experience

  • Excellent organization and communication skills

  • Must be detailed oriented with a high degree of accuracy

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritizing workload

  • Automotive/Heavy Duty parts experience a plus

  • Loud shop environment

  • Be able to meet aggressive deadlines and multitask

  • Typing and 10-key skills are required.

  • Basic office clerical experience including Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Inventory management preferred

  • Parts or supply purchasing preferred

  • Valid Driver’s license and be able to drive a company truck to pick up parts

  • Ability and experience operating a fork lift

  • Perform fuel and oil readings daily and supply as needed.
